The Lion and The lyre

There is a wildness required to be human.

To love when you cannot guarantee you will not be hurt.

To feel deeply in a world that often asks you to harden.

To remain present when life breaks open the identity you thought you had.

   To inhabit a body.

   To belong to the Earth.

And yet, there is also something within us that listens for a deeper harmony.

A pattern beneath the chaos, wisdom hidden inside experience.

A music we can sometimes hear when we become still enough.

The Lion and the Lyre is a podcast about learning to live between these two worlds.

The earthly and the divine, the animal and the celestial.

The raw material of human life and the mysterious intelligence that can transform it.

Through spiritual alchemy, Hermetic and Gnostic wisdom, archetypes, embodiment, trauma recovery and direct experience, we explore what it means to become more deeply human — and through that humanity, more deeply connected to the sacred.

This is not spirituality as an escape from life, but raw, beautiful and commited as a way of meeting it.

Welcome to The Lion and the Lyre.

WHAT DOES THE LION AND THE LYRE MEAN?

The Lion and the Lyre are two symbols of the same human journey.

The Lion belongs to the Earth. He is instinct, incarnation and physical life.

He is the animal within us, that hungers, loves, protects, grieves, desires and survives.

But the Lion is also courage. The courage to live, feel deeply, remain present, take up space.

To allow yourself to be fully here.

The Lyre belongs to the heavens. It is the instrument of harmony. The mystical harmonizer.

The celestial music that reminds us that life is more than a collection of isolated events.

Through the Lyre, we listen for relationship, pattern and meaning.

For the mysterious harmony between what happens to us and what it asks us to become.

The Lyre is connected to Lyra Celestis, astrology, myth and the ancient human desire to understand our place within a living cosmos.

Between the Lion and the Lyre stands the human being. Part animal. Part mystery.

Born of the Earth. Looking towards the stars.

The work is not to escape one for the other but to learn to hold both. The Middle Path.

To become embodied without becoming unconscious.

Spiritual without abandoning the physical world. Mystical without losing discernment.

Human without forgetting the sacred. Feminine and masculine, belonging and transcendent, joyful and deep.

This is the work of The Lion and the Lyre.

SPIRITUALITY THAT CAN SURVIVE REAL LIFE

You can be deeply spiritual and still have dishes in the sink.

You can study Hermetic philosophy and still struggle with your boundaries.

You can have profound mystical experiences and still need to learn how to feel safe in your body. This is part of being human, the nature of being both able to understand forgiveness and still feel angry. Knowing that everything is connected and still heartbroken when someone leaves. This is where The Great Work becomes real, as human nature is being met with compassion, and still, observed, worked, illuminated.

The Lion and the Lyre is for people who do not want spirituality to remove them from their humanity.

We speak about the mysteries. But we also speak about grief.

Archetypes and relationships. Astrology and the nervous system. Alchemy and trauma recovery.

Divine intelligence and the very ordinary experience of trying to live a meaningful life.

There is no need to perform enlightenment here. No chasing, masks or bypassing.

The ordinary is enough. Your life is enough.

The question is not whether your experience is spiritual enough.

The question is: What is it teaching you?
